Núria Güell

Née en 1981 à Vidreres (Gérone, Espagne), vit et travaille dans son village natal
Documents photographiques, filmiques, administratifs et textuels attestent de ses projets, la plus part du temps performatifs. La pratique artistique de Núria Güell se caractérise par une pratique de confrontation, de remise en question des évidences et des conventions morales. Elle ne conçoit pas la pratique artistique comme une pratique culturelle, mais bien au contraire comme une expérience socialement et politiquement nécessaire dans laquelle le culturel et l’idéologie établie sont remis en question.
Núria Güell a bénéficié d’expositions personnelles au centre d’art contemporain Fabra i Coats à Barcelone (Espagne) en 2021 et 2024, à la Biennale de Warszawa (Pologne) en 2019, au MUSAC Museo de Arte Contemporáneo à Léon (Espagne) et au Maczul Museo de Arte Contemporáneo à Maracaibo (Venezuela) en 2018, à l’Institute of Modern Art de Middlesbrough (Royaume-Uni) et au Project Arts Centre à Dublin (Irlande) en 2016.

Photographic, video, administrative and textual documents attest to its projects, most often performative. Her practice is not the expression of contemplation or a virtuous display of technique, but a practice of confrontation, of questioning evidence and conventions. She does not understand artistic practice as a cultural practice, but quite the opposite: she understand it as a socially and politically necessary practice in which the cultural and the established are brought into play.
Núria Güell has been exhibited internationally in institutions including the center of arts Fabra i Coats in Barcelona (Spain), Biennal of Warszawa (Poland); MUSAC Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Léon (Spain), Maczul Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Maracaibo (Venezuela); CAC Brétigny (France); Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA) in  Middlesbrough (United Kingdom) and Project Arts Centre in Dublin (Ireland).
